Joining Project Myra

You are welcome to join!

The project "MYRA" is the idea to create one shared fantasy world together with an unlimited number of people (over 1000 up to now) over an unlimited number of years (over 20 up to now). This world is used as a background for D20 fantasy roleplaying campaigns (open gaming) both offline and diceless online. Myra-D20 modules can be published, too. It is used as the background for a plethora of stories and poems and even full-fledged printed novels are possible, will happen thanks to nanowrimo and will be published, if good enough, with royalties to the author where applicable.

We welcome any creative talent, poets, writers, artists with anime-sketches or full-blown Check out our Frappr!paintbrush pictures, drawing with pencils or using photoshop or terragen for breathtaking raytraced landscapes. If you dont mind, why dont you click the button to the right to tell us via Frappr where youre from.

How can you contribute? You can just contribute some product of your creativity here - and it will be attributed to a certain place and time in the global frame of this fantasy world. You don't have to "dig" this world or in fact roleplaying (or complex boardgame-like Play-By-Email scenarios) or even gaming at all to contribute - just be creative and submit something that could at least *also* be set in our fantasy world.

Or you can 'adopt' a small part of this world in time and space which is and will stay yours to add to as long as that is your wish. That can be a person or group, a D20_logo_4county or country, or even a continent. Yours to add to and moderate, with friends if you wish to do so.

If you're just looking for a background for your stories, your pictures or your D20 campaign, feel free to lurk and read and snatch -and contribute- what you like. If it doesn't work on Myra, we'll let you know.

Visit our LJ-community MyraWorldThe LJ-Community is the place to showcase your Myra artwork, get us to read your stories or ideas for your part of the world. Did you write something? Let us read it, with comments and suggestions how to carry on or where to improve. Did you draw, paint or doodle something for Myra? Put it up in the LJ community and we can tell you where on Myra this might fit in, in case you dont know. Fantasy-poetry is just as welcome there and will be attributed to a time and place of Myra.

LJ is also the place where youll get to read the newest translations of material which was originally in German first. [ Klick here to join! ]

yg3The LJ community is not a mailing list - so we've got this as well, with our Yahoo!Group, as an extra layer of communication with database, photos, polls, calendar and more. Feel free (but not obliged) to join there as well.

If, however, for any reason you'd prefer not to have or get a Yahoo-ID at all, you can of course still join the mailing list that Y!Group provides, with no strings attached. For the moment you won't be missing much, as all the extras on top of the mailing list have yet to be put to full use. All that would need is entering your email-adress in the "subscribe to myraworld" field and a click.

Any concerns that this might divert attention away from the LJ-community [info]myraworld is unfounded, it will just be an extra layer of depth and an extra means for communication, in which I don't expect high mmail frequency any time soon (and if there were, there's always the daily-digest option). So if it's just the mailinglist you want to join (and I invite you to join either the group or the list), do this down here:
